After Soviet Union collapsed in 1989 my country fought for independence, and since this time I remember constant conflicts with the Russian Federation.

When I was accepted by National Art Academy my country was independent with two wars behind it; it faced poverty, corruption and big economic crises, the vanishing of its social structure.

This period marked my life, and was later reflected on my artistic works. That is why, from the beginning, I used art as a tool to understand the structure of society and to study it by playing with it.

In 2003 the Rose Revolution took place in Georgia. It was like a second breath for the country, which was full of opportunities and hopes for the future.  It was around this time that I started to show my works to public spaces. At the same time, together with fellow artists and students, I was working to improve the syllabus art academy, which had been inherited from the Soviet period.  Together with a few students and some teachers, we managed to open Multidisciplinary Studio for the first time in the history of the art academy, where students could learn about contemporary art.

I am a co founder of the artistic group LOTT that became one of the most important contemporary art groups in Georgia. Together we organized several exhibitions and for the first time in the history of the Art Academy, we created a multidisciplinary studio and we managed to work together with the teachers on a new educational system.
